It was an amazing run and a heartbreaker of a State Championship Match. Our varsity finishes as 7A State Runner up with a five set loss and a 17-19 final set. History was made over and over again this season! It was a season to remember in more ways than one.

We did it!!! HUGE Final Four win over Walton on Saturday! Now on to the State Championships! The State Championship Match will take place on Saturday, November 5th @ LakePoint! The 7A match will begin at 7:30 against Buford! We need all of Longhorn Nation to be there! Hook Em!

On to the Final Four! For the third time in program history, our varsity is moving on to the Final Four with a victory over Brookwood! We will take on Walton Saturday at 11:30 AM at Walton. Be there and BE LOUD!! Hook Em!

It has been quite a week! Our varsity continues to roll through the state playoffs with a big sweep over Kennesaw Mountain in the first round and then made quick work of Norcross in the Sweet Sixteen match yesterday. Next up, the Elite Eight!!

It was a history making week for our incredible varsity ladies! With big wins over Forsyth Central on Wednesday and West on Thursday, we earned our FOURTH Region Championship in a row! It is such an amazing accomplishment for our program and especially for our seniors. They can honestly say that they never lost a region match their entire high school careers.

Tuesday was a very special night as we celebrated our seniors Jordan, Ella, Marisa, Claire, Laney, Triya, and Nithi. A huge thank you goes out to our Senior Night committee chair Kelly Spangler and to Marilyn & Joe Mallas, Susan & Kevin Melvin, Heather Beyer, Kavitha Veeramani, Teresa Jenkins, and Kim White for creating such a wonderful ceremony and after match celebration for our seniors. An additional thank you goes out to Gus Cortes for creating the precious senior slideshow that the girls will remember forever! Oh, and our girls took care of business over Roswell and Creekview as well!

On Thursday, varsity competed against Denmark for our final region match and to determine the 1st seed for the upcoming Region Tournament. Once again, our ladies came out like gangbusters and secured the 1st seed with a victory over Denmark. I can honestly say that the first 8 points of the match might be some the best volleyball I have seen played at Lambert! Just WOW….

Our JV had a week to remember! They started off on Wednesday with straight set sweeps over Roswell and Dunwoody. They then turned right around on Thursday and swept Denmark to secure the seed 1st for the JV Region Tournament. On Saturday, these awesome girls competed in the JV Region Tournament at Denmark. It was a tough fight with each match beating South in the first round and then West in the semifinals. It all came down to the finals where they faced South Forsyth once again. It was such an exciting match and our girls brought home the victory!! CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2022 JV REGION CHAMPIONS!! Thank you to Coach Hannah and Coach Edison for the amazing job you did helping these ladies reach their potential! You two are awesome!

Our Freshman ended the season strong! On Wednesday they came up with a big win over Roswell. On Saturday, they too competed in their Region Tournament at Lambert. They had very exciting wins over Milton and West Forsyth. Our girls fought through to the semi finals and eventually fell to Milton and Gainesville. It was a great day for our girls and I’m so proud of them! Thank you to Coach Shane for all the time and effort you put into helping these girls grow! We appreciate you!

Our Varsity and JV Teams continued their undefeated region match streak with big wins over Milton and West Forsyth! One more to go ladies!

Junior Longhorns finished great seasons on Thursday with the Feeder Region Tournament. It is hard to describe the growth that I saw from our fabulous athletes! Their hard work definitely paid off. Thank you so much to Coach Jazmine and Coach Bella for the time, effort, and love that they gave to our girls. Thank you also to Krista Sims, Netta Anderson, and Lisa Hohenstein for being incredible team moms this season! Best of luck to all of our Junior Longhorns as they head into club season tryouts!

Our Varsity and JV ladies brought home two big region wins this week over Central and South! Our DIG GOLD event was a huge success! Partnering with Chick fil A at the Avalon and Smiley for Kylie we raised $2,250! A HUGE thank you to Cristina Crays and Dyann Loudermilk for all you did to help make this such a success!

Our Freshman team split region matches this week with a big, three set win over Milton and a tough three set loss to Gainesville.

The Junior Longhorns keep getting better and are so much fun to watch! This week our Crimson Team was victorious over Central and had a tough loss to North. The White Team came home with fantastic wins over both North and Central!

Our varsity team swept both Cambridge and Dunwoody on Thursday in straight sets. These were total team wins and I was proud of how well the ladies worked together throughout both matches.

Our JV team went 4-0 at the highly competitive All City Playdate with wins over North Cobb, Buford, Centennial, and Woodward. Way to go ladies and coaches! Just awesome!

Our freshman team had a very close loss to Creekview followed by a huge win over Alpharetta on Wednesday.

Both Junior Longhorn teams had victories over East Forsyth on Wednesday! Our Crimson team followed with a win over Milton and our White team had a tough, three set loss to Milton. Our talented ladies competed in the Gainesville Middle School Tournament yesterday. Both teams competed well! The White team had big wins over BHL, East Forsyth, and Pickens County followed by a close loss to West. The Crimson team went 2-2 with wins over Pickens and BHL and close losses to North and West Forsyth despite being down a couple of athletes due to unfortunate injuries. Well done ladies and coaches!

Our varsity team had big wins last week over Norcross, GAC, and Gainesville along with another nail biter, third set, two point loss to Alpharetta. On Saturday we competed in the invite only Tournament of Champions in Guntersville, Alabama. These amazing girls played some of the best volleyball of the entire season and finished 5-1 with a Silver Bracket Championship.

Our Varsity had another very challenging schedule this week. We posted a big win over Mill Creek and a heartbreaking 3 set, 2 point loss to North Gwinnett on Tuesday. Thursday was a big night as we faced our huge rival, North Forsyth. We have faced them the last two years in the region finals. Once again, our girls came to play and swept North Forsyth in three straight sets!

Our JV is working hard and improving with every match! They are right there in all matches but came up a bit short with Mill Creek, Blessed Trinity, and North Forsyth.

Freshman posted a big region win over Central on Monday and had a very close, three set loss to Milton. On Saturday, they made it to the GOLD BRACKET at the A5 Dog Days of Summer Tourney with big wins over South and St. Pius! They lost a tough, three set match in the Gold Bracket to Locust Grove.

Our Varsity had a beast of a schedule this week facing two 2021 state champions and one runner up. We had victories over Johns Creek, Mt. Pisgah, Blessed Trinity, Gainesville, and Alpharetta. There were tough, very close losses to St. Pius, Pope, and Buford. I am extremely proud of the growth and the fight our incredibly talented ladies showed this week against fierce competition.

The Freshman team earned our program’s first 2022 region wins on Monday with big victories over South and Gainesville! Whoo Hoo! They competed hard but came up a bit short against Creekview and Centennial on Wednesday. The Norcross Tournament on Saturday was one of growth throughout the day and they ended the day with a big win!

Our varsity started the season Tuesday with two strong wins over Chamblee and Midtown. On Friday and Saturday we traveled to the highly competitive Sequoyah Classic. We ended the tournament with a 4-1 record with victories over Hillgrove (twice), Northgate, and Cambridge. We fell to a very tough, two year state runner up Sequoyah High School.

Our Junior Varsity competed in the North Gwinnett JV Tournament on Saturday. They fought hard and improved with each match. In the end, they came home as the Silver Bracket Champions! Congrats ladies and coaches! 😊
